It's been a while
As the title says, it has been a while... This is an entry more for myself but, feel free to read my ramblings.
Why did I stop writing, and producing vlogs? I found it difficult to embrace the vlog life mainly. Recording videos of myself was already awkward enough but furthermore, it was impossible for me to record with anyone else in the video. That's why my vlogs thus far from months ago only had myself. Most vloggers you can watch on YouTube are more comfortable with having others in their videos, and are able to produce meaningful interactions. Me? Oh, no...
I'm not sure if my worries are unfounded but, I don't really like the idea of my personal connections being in my videos. It's like as if I'm exposing them to the internet in a harmful way. Why not try a stranger? Oh dear, I'm not even sure how to approach them whilst recording a video! Plus, isn't it a little rude to start recording strangers up close, and trying to have them participate in your activities? Certainly, I don't want to make others uncomfortable, and I'm sure you would agree with that. However, I'm just going to have to fly solo in all of my vlogs. That's not necessarily a bad thing. There are many vloggers who are able to achieve good success just by filming themselves. For me though, it feels lonely. Really lonely. It looks like this discomfort is a hurdle that I need to jump quickly if I am to continue vlogging.
On the other hand, blogging should be a little bit easier to accomplish. Not that blogging is easy though, I do need to do something interesting worth writing about. My past posts were more like post-written itineraries of what I did. Honestly, that doesn't make for an interesting read. For now, I think I'll try to keep my posts simple with a few words, and more pictures. Obviously this entry does not meet the criteria.
For now, I'll end this entry here. It feels a little bit better writing things out. You may ask why I don't keep a private journal to just write things like this in. Well, that's a good question, but I don't think that keeping everything private is going to get me out the door everyday. Might as well expose myself a little. Get a little uncomfortable. Learn how to perform for the online audience. Let's do this.
