The 2017 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta
Between October 7th, to the 15th, was the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Of course, I was there for some of it; the two mass ascension weekends. I took some pictures, recorded some video and just really enjoyed my time there. If you just want to see some photos, skip down to the bottom!
For being such a large festival, many have never heard of it. I personally never heard about it until I entered my second year of taking photos, and it was just by chance too. Amusingly enough, now when I hear that someone doesn't know about Balloon Fiesta, I'm just like, "what, how could you not?" A little hypocrisy for everything in life, right?
I really do love hot air balloons. Their vibrant colors flying in the sky is just somehow very pleasing to me. If that's a little difficult to understand via the internet, I would highly recommend visiting a local balloon festival yourself!
If you take a look at the photos down below, there aren't that many. There are so many dang photos to go through still. However, not all are winners. Even the ones below aren't all winners. Some I edited for the sake of having something on Instagram. I do want to draw your attention to a particular set of images.
Take a good look at the photos that were taken from below the flying balloons that make them looks like circles. To me, they appear to be more in the abstract side of things. Yes, they're balloons but, it's not the usual perspective of them to where you'd immediately recognize them. They're just very colorful circles, in an interesting arrangement.
I have honestly never seen any photo of hot air balloons like these. This can't be that unique of a perspective; I'm certain that many people look up. But, I've browsed some pictures online, and I went through the pictures of the artists selling onsite to find nothing like the ones I have. I may actually be onto something here. Maybe.
In addition to the photos, I did record some vlog style videos. However, I don't think I'll ever publish that video as I'm not making engaging content that I would even watch. I'm going to have to do some long, and hard thinking if I want to delve into the YouTube world more seriously.
For now, this is what I have! I hope you like what you see.
